Woodford County Regulation

Type of Law: 100% Smoke-free Workplaces and Enclosed Public Places (Board of Health Clean Indoor Air Regulation). All enclosed public places and places of employment including facilities and vehicles owned or leased by the cities of Versailles and Midway, and Woodford County; and in service lines and seating areas of all outdoor arenas, stadiums and amphitheaters within Woodford County.

Where Smoking is Prohibited: Private residences except when used as licensed childcare, adult day care or health care facility; private clubs that employ from within or whose employees are member volunteers, unless open to the public; outdoor areas of places of employment except service lines and seating areas of all outdoor arenas, stadiums and amphitheaters within Woodford County.

Kentucky Supreme Court Strikes Down County Health Board Bans on Smoking in Public Places

KY FORWARD | AL CROSS | JUNE 23, 2014 County health boards in Kentucky do not have the power to ban smoking in public places, the Kentucky Supreme Court recently ruled without dissent. The decision was a stiff blow to health officials who see smoking as the primary factor in making Kentucky one of the least healthy states, and have sought state and local smoking bans to limit exposure to second-hand smoke.

Health Board Supports Bullitt County Defense of Smoking Ban

THE RICHMOND REGISTER | BILL ROBINSON | DECEMBER 15, 2011 | The Madison County Health Board is adding its name to a friend-of-court brief in support of the Bullitt County Health Department’s appeal of a judge’s ruling against its smoking ban. In mid-September, Bullitt Circuit Judge Rodney Burress voided the Bullitt County Health Board’s smoking ban less that a week before it took effect.

Clark Helps Fund Bullitt Smoking Ban Appeal

THE WINCHESTER SUN | RACHEL PARSONS | SEPTEMBER 30, 2011 | The Clark County Board of Health will support the Bullitt County Board of Health as it appeals a Bullitt Circuit Court decision ruling a county-wide indoor smoking ban unconstitutional. Local board members voted to provide the Bullitt board with $5,000 from money received from the University of Kentucky for consulting services provided by Health Department Director Scott Lockard.
