Type of Law: 100% Smoke-free Workplaces and Enclosed Public Places. All enclosed public places and places of employment including seating areas of all outdoor arenas.
Exemptions: Buildings leased or owned by local government pursuant to KRS 61.165; private residences (except when used a licensed day care or health facility); designated hotel and motel smoking room; retail tobacco stores; private clubs with no employees

Smoke-free Advocates in Bourbon Push for Smoking Ban

Judge’s Ruling On Smoking Ban Could Have Local Impact
THE RICHMOND REGISTER | KELLY McKENNEY | SEPTEMBER 28, 2011 | A ruling made earlier this month by a Bullitt Circuit judge could have implications for communities across the state, including Madison County. Judge Rodney Burress overturned a county-wide indoor smoking ban, saying the county board of health had no constitutional authority to enact the prohibition it passed March 23.

Study: Second-hand smoke polluting Rowan County air
THE MOREHEAD NEWS | CNHI | MARCH 25, 2011 | Workers and patrons in Rowan County hospitality venues outside city limits are being exposed to harmful levels of second-hand smoke. That was the conclusion of a study conducted at seven hospitality venues outside Morehead city limits where there is an existing smoke-free ordinance.
