Lincoln Health Initiative Becomes Statewide Model

THE ADVOCATE MESSENGER | ABIGAIL WHITEHOUSE | AUGUST 24, 2015 A recent movement named “Get Healthy Stanford/Lincoln County” was spearheaded by a local primary care physician and city councilman after he realized that inactivity, smoking and obesity are the three main creators of an unhealthy community and something he wants to change.

Lincoln school board may ban tobacco on school grounds

THE INTERIOR JOURNAL | BEN KLEPPINGER | JUNE 19, 2013 STANFORD — Lincoln County schools could be completely tobacco-free when students show up in August. Board of Education members approved the first reading of policy changes June 13 that would prohibit tobacco use on all school-owned property.

AHEC Programs Go Smoke-Free

S.KY AHEC Report | DWAINE HARRIS | FALL 2011 | The Southern KY AHEC is showing more support for Kentucky’s smoke-free movement. In addition to expanding our no-smoking zones farther away from the front doors of our conference venues, we have joined the Smoke-Free Kentucky Coalition, whose mission is the completion of comprehensive laws at the local and state level eliminating secondhand smoke in all public and work places, including restaurants and bars.
