Hopkins County Ordinance
Type of Law: Partial. All enclosed public places that allow persons under age 18 to enter.
Where Smoking is Not Prohibited: Any enclosed public place that does not allow persons over the age of 18; independently ventilated enclosed public areas where persons under 18 are not allowed to enter; private clubs when not used for a function to which the general public is invited; hotel and motel rooms designated as smoking rooms; private residences, except when used as a childcare, adult day care, or health care facility. Restaurants, hotel and motel conference or meeting rooms, and public and private assembly rooms while these places are being used for private functions.

JOURNAL ENTERPRISE | REPRESENTATIVE BRENT YONTS | OCTOBER 2, 2011 | More than a third of Kentucky adults smoked in 2000, or 30.5 percent, according to the state Cabinet for Health and Family Services. Today the state estimates the percentage of adult smokers in the state is 24.8 percent.

Judge’s Ruling On Smoking Ban Could Have Local Impact
THE RICHMOND REGISTER | KELLY McKENNEY | SEPTEMBER 28, 2011 | A ruling made earlier this month by a Bullitt Circuit judge could have implications for communities across the state, including Madison County. Judge Rodney Burress overturned a county-wide indoor smoking ban, saying the county board of health had no constitutional authority to enact the prohibition it passed March 23.
